Aaron Murray

I looked back at LSU's season last year. I'm not sure about Jefferson's redshirt, because I don't know what the rules are. He had 1 carry each in the 2nd game (North Texas), the 4th game (Miss. St.) and the 8th game (Tulane). Otherwise, he did not play in the rest of the games. He may have handed off a few times in those games 3 games, I don't know. But he didn't attempt a college pass till the 10th game, vs. Troy. He QB'd them down the stretch, beating Troy and losing to Ole Miss and Arky…then lighting up GT in the Peach Bowl (yes, I still call it that).

They are now ranked #9 in the BCS and still in the hunt for all the marbles if they beat Alabama somehow on Saturday. They lost 13-3 to the champs and are getting better each week. They struggled last year, lost a bunch of games, went 3-5 in the SEC, couldn't figure it out at QB, and had a defense that looked like a Pee Wee team. They started a true freshman QB ridiculously late in the season and brought in a new DC in the off-season, and they're looking at 10-2 at worst this year. It can be done. Pull the trigger on Murray. I can't believe I'm saying it, but pull it. And get some new blood on defense in there and this thing can get turned around quicker than we realized. We might take a few lumps this year, but we're taking them anyway. I love Joe and wanted him to succeed. It's apparent he can't.

  1. couldn't agree with you more. i would rather lose the next 4 games and go 4-8 and be in position to make at least an sec title run next year than go 8-4 and be in the same position this time next year. i think CMR believes that if they win out this season, he can get away with keeping Willie.
